If your children and teens are trying to find fun things to do this summer, look no further than the library. We are having fun events for all ages! Children sign-ups are now open. You will get a bag of summer reading goodies when you sign up. You will get a children’s reading log and a packet of information for the summer reading programs. There are also opportunities to win prizes by entering contests all summer long!

To sign your teen up, just ask for a reading log at the circulation desk or just show up to a teen activity. The teen reading challenge is open up to any teen in community with the love of reading. For every two books you log on your reading log, you will receive a prize. Turn in your reading log at the end of the summer for a chance to win one of two grand prizes.

We will also have summer reading programs the whole family will enjoy! Join us on June 14th at 4:30 pm as we watch Doctor Who and make edible Sonic Screwdrivers and color. We will also be having a 1960s themed moon landing party in 50th celebration of the moon landing. We will watch the footage and have crafts and food for the whole family. Join us this summer as we explore a universe of stories!

Have you ever wondered what it takes to create those artfully addressed envelopes? Join us at the library as we learn what goes into this creating this type of elegant script. We will then practice with the different tools and different worksheets to get acquainted with this style of writing. This class will take place on Tuesday, February 5th at 5:30 pm. To learn more about this program, contact the library at 262-2409.

Do you have what it takes to be the next Iron Chef? To prove it, join us on Friday, January 18th at 5:00 pm. You will be asked to make dishes with a variety of ingredients. You do not have to know how to cook to participate.
