Need something to read while staying safer-at-home? Want to support your child’s distance learning with the library’s collection? We at the El Reno Carnegie Library are finding new ways to meet your needs!
Beginning Monday, March 30, we will offer Curbside Pickup. Reserve your items through our catalog or over the phone. We will then bring your items to our pickup station outside the library, to be located at the accessible entrance on the west side.
- Curbside Pickup will be available M-F 10am-4pm.
- Once you receive the notification that your reserve is ready to pick up, head to the library!
- If you have a cell phone, please call us once you arrive, before leaving your car. We will then place your items at our pickup spot on the west side of the building, after which you can take your items.
- If you do not have a cell phone, please call us beforehand to let us know when we can expect you. At the time you specify, we will place your items at our pickup spot on the west side of the building, after which you can take your items.
- Although our book drop is open, your items will not be due until we reopen to the public – feel free to keep them as long as you need until then!
As always, call us at 262-2409 if you have any questions.
We are working on putting together a resource page just for you! We know you may be looking for ideas on how to keep your kids busy and learning, how to talk to them about COVID-19, and where to find activities to keep yourself busy while at home. This page is coming soon!
The El Reno Carnegie Library will be closed to the public beginning Monday, March 23rd, and will remain closed until further notice. We at the City of El Reno believe this decision is in the best interest of protecting the health and safety of our community. The City of El Reno will continue to follow CDC guidelines and directions from Governor Stitt during the COVID-19 pandemic. More information on the City’s response can be found here. Any updates regarding the library will be posted here as well as our Facebook.
Due dates on all currently checked out items will be extended until the end of our closure, late fines will not accrue, and active library accounts will not expire. We encourage you to please keep any currently checked out items until the library reopens.
Your ERCL account provides you with 24/7 access to our digital materials including eBooks, audiobooks, magazines, and research databases. We will also continue to provide you with links to resources on our Facebook page.
Library staff will be available to answer questions and provide reference services by phone at (405) 262-2409 Mon.-Fri. 9:00-5:00.
COVID-19 Information & Resources
El Reno Carnegie Library renovations are nearly complete! Over the past few months, we have undertaken numerous steps to restore and improve your library. The beloved original architectural details of the building have been repaired and preserved. Paint, carpet, lighting, plumbing, shelving, and furniture have all been updated to ensure that the library is a warm and welcoming space capable of meeting the needs of our community.
Opening in mid-October, date TBD
We are tentatively planning to reopen in mid-October, with a grand opening celebration to follow. Until then, library services are still available at our temporary location at the El Reno Senior Center at 401 S. Grand, M-F 10am-6pm.
Thank you all for your patience during our closure. We are truly excited for you to see the final product.
